KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 6): According to the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee’s latest tweet, Malaysia will get 14.4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines in July (JKJAV). These include 6.43 million doses of Pfizer vaccine from Pfizer plus a contribution from the United States, 1.59 million doses of AstraZeneca (delivery of AstraZeneca manufactured in Thailand plus a donation from Japan), and 6.38 million doses of Sinovac, according to the statement (from Pharmaniaga and donation from China).
The country has so far used shots made by Pfizer, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).
According to data released by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force, Malaysia had received 8.6 million Covid-19 vaccines as of June 21. (CITF). AstraZeneca vaccine doses totaled 828,000, Pfizer vaccine doses totaled 4.08 million, and Sinovac vaccine doses totaled 3.69 million.
To date, 9.32 million people in the country have been vaccinated, with 6.59 million receiving their first shot and 2.74 million receiving full vaccinations.
