KUALA LUMPUR, 15 JULY: According to Malaysia’s Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, daily Covid-19 instances reached a record high of 13,215 today, up 1,597 from yesterday’s 11,618, a new high. The new infection figure brings the overall number of infections in the country to 880,782.
Meanwhile, with 6,120 new cases each day, Selangor has the greatest number of new cases per day in the country. This is the first time the state has crossed the 6,000-case threshold in a single day.
To date, Selangor has accounted for 35 percent of the total cases in the country, or 307,094.
On the other hand, Kuala Lumpur continued to register more than 1,000 instances per day for the third day in a row, with 1,499. In total, 94,336 instances have been reported in the federal territory.
Negeri Sembilan, with 1,603 new illnesses, was another state with four digits. So far, the state has reported a total of 57,359 cases.
