KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (June 28): Yesterday (June 27), the number of Covid-19 vaccination doses delivered in Malaysia fell for the third day in a row, to 168,956 doses, down from 187,877 doses the day before.
According to the latest tweet from the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), which cited data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF), 103,856 people received their first doses yesterday, while 65,100 people received their second doses.
As a result, the seven-day moving average for Covid-19 vaccines has increased to 225,761, up from 221,707 the day before.

According to the task group, 7.4 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided across the country so far, with 5.31 million initial doses and 2.09 million second doses.
At least 16.2 percent of the population has received their first dose, with 6.4 percent of the population having received all three doses.

Sarawak had the biggest cumulative number of first doses delivered among the states and federal territories, with 953,982, or 33.9 percent of its population, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 932,659, or 52.6 percent of its population.
With 270,221, or 4.1 percent of its population, Selangor had the greatest cumulative number of shots administered, followed by Sarawak with 227,292, or 8.1 percent of its population.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s new daily Covid-19 infections were lower yesterday, at 5,586 instances, compared to 5,803 on Saturday (June 26).
The total number of cases has now reached 734,048, according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Selangor continues to have the most infections, with 2,212 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (628 cases), and Sarawak (513 cases).
Yesterday, the number of new infections surpassed the number of fresh recoveries, which stood at 4,777. The overall number of cases recovered is 667,709, or 91 percent of the total number of cases.
As a result, the number of active cases jumped to 61,395, up from 60,646 the day before. There were 886 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 446 requiring mechanical ventilation.
Yesterday, 60 people died as a result of the coronavirus, increasing the total death toll from Covid-19 to 4,944, reflecting a 0.67 percent fatality rate. Continue reading
