KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 3): According to data from the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee, Malaysia provided 236,196 Covid-19 vaccine doses across the country yesterday (July 2), down marginally from the 263,012 shots a day earlier (JKJAV). 167,059 of the 236,196 doses were delivered to first-time users, with the remaining 69,137 being second-time patients.
The Covid-19 immunization rate fell to 220,546 from 225,761 the day before, according to the seven-day moving average. In July, the government plans to distribute 300,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine each day, with 400,000 doses per day in August.
According to JKJAV, a total of 8.58 million vaccine doses had been provided, with 2.46 million Malaysians fully immunized and 6.12 million receiving their first injection.
As of yesterday, at least 7.5 percent of the population had received their complete dose, while 18.7 percent had received their first dose.

Sarawak continued to have the greatest cumulative number of first doses provided, with 1.15 million or 40.9 percent of the population, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1.09 million or 61.7 percent and Selangor with 1.03 million or 15.8%.
Selangor led the way with 333,432 shots, covering 5.1 percent of the population, followed by Johor with 258,636 shots, covering 6.8% of the population.
The number of new Covid-19 cases in the country remained above 6,000 yesterday, with 6,982 infections and 73 deaths confirmed, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,327.
As a result, active cases increased to 66,084, while the total number of Covid-19 cases reached 765,949, with 694,538 complete recoveries.
