KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 10): Under the Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme, the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) has been identified as one of the designated industrial vaccination centres (PPVIN) (PIKAS). The PIKAS initiative aims to help the Malaysian government speed immunization among the workforce and lower the number of Covid-19 clusters.
The PIKAS centre at MITEC, according to MITEC acting chief executive officer Mala Dorasamy, is dedicated to manufacturing enterprises under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
“With the urgent need to accelerate the immunisation pace to combat Covid-19 in the country, the implementation of the industrial vaccination center is critical,” she said in a statement. “This effort will preserve the well-being of employees and mobilize Malaysia’s economic recovery.”

In support of the nationwide immunization effort, the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) launched the Business Events (BE) Steward Program.
“In support of PIKAS, BE practitioners, including the venue management team, will help in the administration of the MITEC PIKAS PPV centre as non-healthcare frontliners.”
“This will help the professional team even more and make the immunization process easier for all beneficiaries,” Mala added.
Companies sponsoring PIKAS have responded positively, according to PPV MITEC PIKAS project coordinator Dr Zool Raimy Abdul Ghaffar of Mudah Healthcare Sdn Bhd.
“We have close to 30 medical doctors, nurses, and volunteers this week, with plans to expand to a 60-person team next week.”
“From the second week onwards, we expect the vaccination capacity to be raised to more than 1,000 recipients,” he said.
ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProtectHealth Malaysia founded under the Health Ministry, has hired Mudah Healthcare as its healthcare organiser.
