KUALA LUMPUR, 30 JUNE: On July 5, the trial of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case will resume in the High Court in Kuala Lumpur.
The case was originally slated to begin yesterday (June 29) before Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah, but was postponed owing to Phase 1 of the mobility control under the National Recovery Plan, according to Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Ahmad Akram Gharib (PPN).
“The court sent us an email yesterday afternoon advising us that the 1MDB case trial had been postponed. The next trial dates will begin on July 5 and end on July 8, according to the previously established schedule “When contacted via WhatsApp today, he said.
The last time the case was heard was on May 27.
When the trial resumes, Najib’s lawyer Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohammed is anticipated to continue cross-examining Mohd Hazem Abdul Rahman, 49, a former 1MDB chief executive officer (CEO).
