PULAU INDAH (July 8): -A +A PULAU INDAH (July 8): Since May, the Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) has received 2,154 complaints about firms refusing to allow their employees to work from home.
They were among 5,003 complaints received on the Working for Workers (WfW) application, a MOHR project, during that time, according to Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Awang Hashim.
He told reporters after participating in a compliance operation at a plastic manufacturing business here today, “Other types of complaints include non-payment or delayed salaries (1,180 cases) and 388 cases of illicit wage deductions.”
Meanwhile, according to Awang, 793 investigation documents have been filed against employers for various offenses under the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446) since February.
According to him, the majority of the offenses include violations of Section 24D of Act 446, which prohibits employers from placing employees in housing without first obtaining approval from the Director-General of the Department of Manpower (JTK).
