KUANTAN (July 5): Two investigation papers have been filed against DAP central committee member Ronnie Liu, who was present at the Raub court complex today during the remand hearings of 18 Musang King durian farmers accused of encroaching on a permanent forest reserve. The inquiry is being carried out under Section 186 of the Penal Code for hindering a public official from carrying out his responsibilities, which is said to have occurred in the Raub court complex, according to Pahang Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Mohd Yusri Othman.
“If he broke the standard operating procedures (SOP) when crossing state into Raub, an investigation is being conducted under Regulation 17 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021.”
“As a politician, he can cross states, but he is still bound by the National Security Council’s (MKN) SOP,” he stated when approached today.
Several DAP leaders converged on the Raub court complex today, including Raub MP Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji, Bentong MP Wong Tak, Bilut assemblyman Lee Chin Chen, and Tras assemblyman Chow Yu Hui.
The Raub Magistrate’s Court today remanded 18 farmers, aged 17 to 60, until tomorrow to help the Pahang Forestry Department in investigations into claims of trespassing into the Batu Talam Forest Reserve in Raub to cultivate Musang King durians./nRead More
