As of 0050 GMT, spot gold was stable at $1,824.81 per ounce, after hitting a high of $1,829.55 on Wednesday, the highest since June 16. * Gold futures in the United States rose 0.1 percent to $1,826.40 per ounce. Powell maintained throughout his two-day testimony before Congress that current price hikes are only temporary and that the central bank is focused on getting as many people back to work as possible.
