KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 6): ProtectHealth Corp Sdn Bhd, the company in charge of implementing private medical practitioner participation in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), plans to open more than 30 large-scale integrated vaccination facilities (PPVs) around the country by July 19, 2021. It will be done in collaboration with the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) and the Ministry of Health, according to the statement (MoH).
To far, ProtectHealth has established 1,230 PPVs across the country, contributing to the daily administration of 162,822 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
“ProtectHealth has built significant public-private partnerships, allowing the commercial sector to participate actively in the national vaccination program.”
“Under PICK, ProtectHealth is required to carry out the participation of private medical practitioners with a vaccination obligation of 30% of the target quantity. It noted in a statement today that the current immunization rate is 46 percent, which is higher than the desired number of vaccinations.

The Ministry of Health has established a goal for ProtectHealth to improve its immunization rate to 60% of the overall aim under PICK by the end of August 2021, according to the statement.
PICK According to recent reports, Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin stated that the government plans to vaccinate 80 percent of the population by September by increasing daily average shots to 300,000 in July and 400,000 in August.
It went on to say that the Ministry of Health had increased ProtectHealth’s mandate to include non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in vaccination administering.
ProtectHealth met its daily dose capacity target of 80,000 doses per day before June, and by the end of the month, it had reached 110,000 doses.
Before the end of June, ProtectHealth had also met its goal of enrolling 1,000 private general practitioners (GPs) as PPV GPs.
ProtectHealth was founded in 2016 as a non-profit organization that is completely owned by ProtectHealth Malaysia and is governed by the Ministry of Health.
As of Sunday (July 4), 19.53 percent of the Malaysian population had gotten at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 8.01 percent had been fully immunized, according to data collected by The Edge.
