KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (June 28): Ralco Corp Bhd, a manufacturer of plastic products, announced today that its manufacturing plant in Nilai, Seremban, will be closed till July 3 after the business identified many positive cases of Covid-19 infection among factory workers. In a bourse filing, the company stated that it had been conducting Covid-19 screening tests for both local and foreign workers at all of its factories, and that the affected employees are currently receiving medical treatment at government healthcare facilities, as per the Ministry of Health’s directive (MoH). All employees on the impacted plant’s premises have been placed under self-quarantine, according to the statement.
It further stated that the impacted plant’s facilities are currently closed for disinfection and sanitization procedures, with operations set to restart in stages beginning July 4.
“The capacity loss as a result of the temporary closure of the affected plant premises is projected to be insignificant in terms of overall yearly output volume. Other production facilities in various areas are operational as usual “It was stated.
“Ralco is cooperating and collaborating with the Ministry of Health. We will continue to strictly follow the Covid-19 preventative standard operating procedures (SOPs) “It was also added.
It further stated that disinfection exercises will continue to be done on a regular basis at all of the company’s facilities and workers’ housing, with all required preventive measures strictly in place to combat the Covid-19 epidemic.
“Our employees’ and local communities’ safety and well-being are our top priorities in limiting the problem, and the temporary closure will go a long way toward reducing the risk of the Covid-19 virus spreading further inside the neighborhood,” it stated.
Ralco’s stock last traded at RM1.11, giving it a market capitalization of RM56.39 million.
