SEOUL, 15 JULY (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea imported no Iranian crude oil in June and a year ago, according to preliminary figures released by the Korea Customs Service on Thursday. According to the data, the world’s fifth-largest oil buyer purchased 10.8 million tonnes of crude last month, up from 10 million tonnes a year ago.
The state-run Korea National Oil Corp (KNOC) will release final figures for South Korea’s crude oil imports last month later this month. For South Korean oil imports, the KNOC data is regarded the industry standard.
