KUCHING (July 4): -A +A Because Sarawak is a large state, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas wants the transition into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (PPN) to be based on the Covid-19 condition in the individual districts.
“We would like to suggest that the federal government analyze Sarawak based on the Covid-19 situation and performance in each district rather than a state-wide assessment.”
“This is due to the fact that Sarawak is a very large state, almost as large as Peninsular Malaysia,” he stated in a statement today.
On Sarawak’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign, Uggah expressed confidence that the state will reach its goal of vaccinating 2.2 million eligible persons by the end of August.
Sarawak will continue to fine-tune its existing methods to make the Covid-19 immunization exercise more efficient and effective, according to Uggah, who is also the head of the State Disaster Management Committee.
“We had been averaging 65,000 doses each day, but just 47,679 doses were delivered yesterday.” We’re going to up to 60,000 dosages every day, so we’ve got a lot of catching up to do,” he added./nRead More
