SoftBank Corp, the telecom operator arm of SoftBank Group, has partnered with Singapore-based Oasys to develop blockchain-based services for the gaming industry. In a separate development, online shopping platform Temu has launched its services in Canada, while OrderEZ has acquired FoodRazor.

Softbank Corp partners with Oasys

Japanese telecom giant SoftBank Corp. has partnered with Singapore-based blockchain game developer Oasys, as an official validator to develop blockchain-based services for the gaming industry. Bandai Namco Research, SEGA, Square Enix, Netmarble, and 17 other companies are also among the 21 initial validators for Oasys.

Four more companies will be joining in the next batch as validators. The company will enable public participation through a council and remove the limit on the number of validator slots.

Founded in 2022, Oasys is creating an ecosystem for gamers and developers to distribute and develop blockchain-based games.

Temu launches in Canada

Online shopping platform Temu, backed by Chinese e-commerce giant Pinduoduo, has launched its services in Canada.

Pinduoduo launched Temu in the US last year as the Chinese internet industry started exploring new markets as slow user growth, low revenues and pandemic disruption affected domestic markets, reported Caixin last year.

Founded in 2022, Temu is an online marketplace that connects consumers with millions of sellers, manufacturers and brands around the world. Temu has a merchant base of over 11 million and has processed 61 billion annual orders.

OrderEZ buys FoodRazor

Singapore-based food and beverage operations management platform OrderEZ has acquired FoodRazor, an invoice automation and analytics platform for the food and beverage industry. OrderEZ plans to expand to the US in 2023 and also raise funding.

Acquiring Cocoon Capital-backed FoodRazor will expand OrderEZ’s integrated suite of inventory, procurement, and CRM software, fueling a leap in automation and freeing hospitality operators. Launched in 2019, OrderEZ uses automation, real-time data and strategic integrations to enable revenue generation, simplify inventory management and track order fulfilment from a single platform for the F&B industry.
