PUTRAJAYA, 13 JULY: The Selangor Health Department (JKNS) has stated that the Covid-19 epidemic in the state is being managed aggressively in order to ensure that residents receive the best treatment possible. This included ensuring that the 27 Covid-19 Assessment Centres (CACs) in Selangor carried out a comprehensive evaluation of patients before granting the release order for those who had finished their quarantine term, according to state health director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman.
“We are the state with the highest number of Covid-19 cases, and we are devoted to preserving people’s lives and health,” he said today at a special Health Ministry press conference.
Today, Selangor saw the most new Covid-19 instances of any state, with 5,263 new cases.
He further stated that the Malawati Stadium CAC would normally serve 1,500 cases every day, but that there were 4,483 patients at the stadium yesterday.
According to him, 1,900 patients showed up at the stadium yesterday to receive their release orders, and the department had set up tents and seats to guarantee that those who showed up were appropriately supervised.
Meanwhile, he stated that in order to deal with the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases in the state, the department had estimated the number of patients and dispatched an additional 85 workers from other states, in addition to staff from the state’s health centers.
He went on to say that the department has lowered the function of treating chronic cases in health clinics to 25% in order to free up people.
“Any private doctors or organizations are also encouraged to establish private CACs in order to lessen the amount of patients at the existing CAC.”
We also assess and follow cases at home using three different methods: digitally, WhatsApp, and phone calls “The department also issued pulse oximeters to those who were quarantined at home, he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Sha’ari noted that when the 1,000-capacity CAC at Dewan Taman Sri Andalas, which was set up to replace the Bandar Botanik CAC, opened yesterday, 1,924 persons were there.
He stated that after talking to health officials, district officers, State Assemblymen, and local officials, they decided to separate the patient accomodation area from the general public area.
Meanwhile, Datuk Dr Chong Chee Kheong, the Health deputy director-general (public health), said the Greater Klang Valley special task team had taken a four-point approach to managing the pandemic, which included working closely with the economic sectors.
“We recognize that movement restrictions have a significant detrimental impact on the economy. However, if we allow them to operate, we must ensure that they take greater responsibility for creating a safe working environment, as mandated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).” They must have a case detection system because we do not want people to enter our healthcare system late. We can cure them sooner if they come in early “He went on to say that the task team would seek ideas and comments from other parties in order to go forward.
Other options, according to Dr. Chong, who leads the task group, include continuing to empower the public to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) on a daily basis, which includes social distancing and personal protection, as well as speeding up the vaccination process.
