KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 5): According to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, several other states are making significant progress in moving into Phase Two of the Movement Control under the National Recovery Plan (PPN). The Prime Minister, without naming the states, stated that they had a great deal of potential to meet the three threshold value indicators required for the transition in the near future.
“Alhamdulillah, aside from the five states that have transitioned into Phase Two of the Movement Control under the PPN, there are several other states that are showing great development and potential to achieve the three threshold value indicators in the near future,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on Saturday (July 3) that Perlis, Kelantan, Perak, Pahang, and Terengganu Terengganu had entered Phase Two of the PPN as of today, having met the threshold value.
The three benchmarks for the changeover are that the national daily average Covid-19 cases must fall below 4,000, intensive care unit (ICU) bed utilization should be mild, and at least 10% of the population must be properly vaccinated.
Despite the fact that he is still in hospital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a special meeting of the National Security Council through teleconferencing today to review the recent Covid-19 situation in the country.
The execution of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in many subdistricts and localities in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, as well as the PPN report for each state, were among the topics discussed, according to Muhyiddin, who was admitted to the city’s hospital on June 30.
From July 3 to 16, eight Selangor subdistricts – Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Klang, Kuala Selangor, and Hulu Selangor – and 14 Kuala Lumpur localities were placed under the EMCO.
Meanwhile, following the delivery of additional vaccine supplies this month, Muhyiddin expressed optimism that the country’s pandemic status can be maintained and that more people can be vaccinated.
“I’d also like to express my gratitude to the volunteers, charity organizations, political parties, commercial sector, and general public who have stepped forward to help people in need in addition to the government’s support.”
“May Allah reward your good acts,” he remarked./nRead More
