The inaugural flights between Singapore and Hong Kong will depart from 26 May.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has released its schedules for the Singapore-Hong Kong air travel bubble flights, as it welcomes the announcement of the arrangement between the two parties.

“This is an important milestone in our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and helps to establish confidence in the safe resumption of international air travel with the necessary protocols in place,” a SIA spokesperson said.

The inaugural flight from Singapore to Hong Kong will depart on 26 May, whilst the inaugural SIA flight from Hong Kong to Singapore will depart on 28 May. There are designated flight schedules from 26 May to 7 June, but these will operate daily from 9 June only.

Travellers transiting through Singapore or Hong Kong, as well as those who do not meet the air travel bubble requirements, will not be allowed on the said flights.

Precautionary measures are still put in place to ensure health and safety of customers and personnel.

Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific has also announced its flight schedules for the important route. Its ATB flights will operate as CX759 and CX734 using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The inaugural CX759 flight from Hong Kong will depart on 26 May, whilst the first CX734 flight from Singapore will depart on 27 May.

From 10 June, Cathay Pacific will operate daily return ATB flights (CX759 and CX 734) to Singapore.

The ATB arrangement was agreed in November last year, but was postponed due to the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong. In light of this the two governments also added stringent measures for ATB travelers.

Moreover, Cathay Pacific also welcomed Hong Kong’s decision to expand the Return2hk Scheme that enables Hong Kong residents arriving from Mainland China to enter the city without undergoing quarantine.

Cathay Pacific currently operates flights between Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xiamen and Hong Kong. It will add more routes in the coming months to enable Hong Kong residents to return more easily.
