It also uses its Deal Score algorithm to compare ticket costs, earns money from transaction fees, and potentially receive a percentage of rightsholder ticket pricing. SeatGeek, a software as a service startup founded in 2009, has raised over $290 million in funding and is currently valued at at $571 million, according to financial data provider PitchBook. SeatGeek’s partnership with BSE Global, which owns the Nets and the Liberty franchise in the Women’s National Basketball Association, will begin in October and will provide a brand presence. The corporation will assume naming rights to the plaza outside the Barclays Center, which is situated beneath the arena’s Oculus display. The area will now be known as “SeatGeek Plaza.” The agreement’s specific terms were not disclosed, but BSE Global would use SeatGeek technology to sell tickets. BSE Global CEO John Abbamondi stated in a statement that the companies’ approaches to live-event ticketing techniques have “same DNA.” As a result of the epidemic, sports organizations are adapting to a new environment, and more leagues and teams are moving to digital-only purchasing. “We see a lot of opportunity in cooperating with SeatGeek on ways to improve the fan experience at Barclays Center,” Abbamondi said. The Nets join the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans as the company’s third NBA relationship. The Saints, Dallas Cowboys, and Arizona Cardinals are among the NFL teams who have signed deals. SeatGeek also claims to be the “majority ticketer” for the English Premier League in other countries. “Barclays Center is one of the world’s top venues,” SeatGeek co-founder and CEO Jack Groetzinger said. “As we work together to modernize the experience of coming to an event, this is a big transaction for us.” After the Nets were eliminated from the NBA playoffs last month, events at the Barclays Center will continue this summer. The Liberty, who are now sixth in the WNBA, have six home games remaining and will face the top-seeded Seattle Storm on Aug. 18./nRead More
