SINGAPORE — A Singaporean special-purpose acquisition company backed by Vertex Holdings, the venture capital arm of state-investor Temasek Holdings, plans to merge with a livestreaming platform in what would be the city-state’s first SPAC to acquire a target.

The proposed deal could help the Southeast Asian financial hub attract fast-growing tech companies to the local bourse, which traditionally lags rival Hong Kong in initial public offerings of young companies.
