KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 8): Oriental Food Industries Holdings Bhd plummeted this morning as the company announced a two-week temporary shutdown of its Malacca operations due to Ministry of Health restrictions (MoH). Super Ring, Jacker, Rota, and Oriental are some of the snack food and confectionery brands produced by the company.
When trading resumed after being suspended from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. today, Oriental Food’s stock opened 0.5 sen or 0.58 percent lower at 85.5 sen.
The counter was trading at 85.5 sen at the time of writing, with 17,500 shares traded.
The group told Bursa Malaysia yesterday that the Ministry of Health has ordered it to close its Air Keroh Industrial Estate offices, excluding the office, maintenance, logistics, and security divisions, from July 7 to July 21.
“We will follow the job instructions supplied by the Ministry of Health.”
“Our employees’ and local community’s safety and well-being are our top priorities in managing the problem and flattening the Covid-19 curve,” it stated.
