Reuters Luxottica, the creator of Ray-Ban sunglasses, has been accused of anti-union behavior at a plant in Georgia, United States. U.S. and international unions have accused Luxottica, the Italian part of eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, of breaching workers’ right to organize at a Georgia plant, and have requested mediation from the Italian, French, and US governments. The Communications Workers of America (CWA), along with the AFL-CIO and two other workers’ organizations, claimed in a statement to Reuters that managers at the Luxottica plant in McDonough, Georgia, launched a “aggressive and fear-inducing” campaign to discourage its 2,000 employees from joining a union./n
