As part of a referral program to gain independent sellers on the Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) marketplace, a startup is giving away free Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) automobiles.
What happened was this: Acquco, an Amazon seller aggregator, said that everyone who connects an Amazon third-party seller who is eventually bought by the company will receive a free Tesla Model Y. The Model Y starts at around $50,000 and goes up from there.
In an interview with CNBC, Acquco CEO Raunak Nirmal claimed his company, which concentrates on third-party Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) merchants, is willing to give away up to $10 million worth of Model Y cars.
“There are two types of awards available. You can either acquire a Tesla or a Porsche — you’ll have $49,990 to spend on whichever Porsche model you want. Alternatively, you can accept the money right now “According to the company’s website, it is situated in New York.

Acquco’s referral scheme exemplifies the fierce rivalry for Amazon seller aggregators in the growing market.
Amazon seller aggregators like Acquco invest money and use their experience running Amazon businesses to help FBA brands scale quickly and profitably. Acquco says it had collected $160 million from leading venture capitalists to buy Amazon businesses, led by a team that includes former Amazon employees.
