REUTERS: TikTok, a short-video sharing app, launched a test initiative on Wednesday that allows users to upload video resumes for jobs in the United States, ranging from a WWE Superstar to a senior data engineer at Shopify or a creative producer at TikTok. From July 7 to July 31, organizations such as Chipotle Mexican Grill and Target Corp will accept video resumes for job openings as part of the “TikTok Resumes” campaign.
The website, which is popular among Gen Z and millennials, will allow users to apply for jobs ranging from entry-level to experienced roles using videos with the hashtag #TikTokResumes, according to a blog post from the firm. (https://bit.ly/3hnAq71) As labor demand returns after the pandemic, fuelled by quick vaccinations against the coronavirus, the United States has been experiencing a labor shortage. TikTok, which is best known for its trend-setting dance videos, has seen an increase in professional and job-related content under hashtags such as #CareerTok.
