WASHINGTON — U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Saturday that it makes “all the sense in the world” for TikTok, the Chinese-owned popular short-video platform, to switch to U.S. ownership.

Tucked away in the $95 billion national security package that U.S. President Joe Biden signed into law last month was a provision that forces TikTok to cut ties with Beijing-based parent ByteDance and to become American-owned.
