To help China meet its dual carbon objectives, the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) has teamed with the Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited (CATL). Towngas and CATL decided to initiate cooperation in energy internet construction, energy storage solutions, and energy storage business, among other things, at a cloud agreement signing on July 6. “The timetable for achieving the country’s dual carbon goals necessitates a tight deadline and a large scope of work,” Towngas Chairman Lee Ka-kit stated. “As a result, the energy industry chain’s upstream and downstream divisions must collaborate and develop technologically to help speed its green transition.” Towngas and CATL will also form a joint venture, with funds dedicated to the development of an energy technology innovation firm. Energy storage technologies, integration services, integrated smart energy solution providing, and project operation will all be included.
