PUTRAJAYA, 13 JULY: The transformation of Malaysian cities into low-carbon cities, according to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, will assist build the local green economy, create jobs, and attract domestic and foreign investment. Muhyiddin stated the sustainable energy industry, low carbon mobility, waste management and recycling, and water efficiency will all benefit from the endeavor in his speech at the start of the virtual Malaysia Low Carbon Cities Conference 2021 today.
The National Low Carbon Cities Master Plan, he said, was launched today to provide complete guidelines for state governments and local governments in developing low carbon cities in their areas, in order to systematically strengthen the implementation framework of low carbon initiatives and achieve a significant carbon emission reduction target.
“The transition and transformation of low-carbon cities will have a good influence on all of us in terms of lessening climate change’s repercussions,” he said.
