(Reuters) – WASHINGTON, July 13 (Reuters) – Katherine Tai, the US Trade Representative, met with her British colleague Liz Truss in Washington on Tuesday, and the two agreed to continue working to deepen bilateral connections, according to a statement from Tai’s office. Tai and Truss agreed that their recent settlement in a long-running trade dispute over Airbus (AIR.PA) and Boeing (BA.N) subsidies provided a framework for “future collaboration on common issues, particularly those posed by China’s and other non-market economies’ anti-competitive activities.” They also emphasized the importance of fair competition in the global economy and committed to collaborate bilaterally and multilaterally to improve the international trading system and solve issues of forced labor.
