PALO ALTO, U.S./TOKYO — Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of the U.S. ride-hailing company Uber Technologies, said it would operate its full range of services in Japan if the ban on private-car ride-hailing is lifted.

“If it’s allowed, and policymakers believe that it’s the right thing to do, of course we will participate,” Khosrowshahi told reporters Wednesday at Uber headquarters in San Francisco.
