KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 8): According to studies, while Covid-19 vaccine does not completely protect a person from catching the virus, it does protect them from the disease’s severity in 99.999 percent of cases. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to Dr Rais Hussin and Dr Margarita Peredaryenko, provided these latest numbers.
“According to statistics, a total of 10,262 vaccination breakthrough infections were reported from 46 US states from January 1 to April 30, 2021, for about 101 million people fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
“A total of 2,725 (27 percent) of the 10,262 patients were asymptomatic, 995 (ten percent) were hospitalized, and 160 (two percent) died. Furthermore, 289 (29%) of the 995 hospitalized individuals were asymptomatic or in the hospital for reasons unrelated to C “vid-19,” they announced today in a joint statement.
Dr. Rais and Dr. Margarita are members of EMIR Research’s research team, which focuses on strategic policy recommendations based on thorough research.
According to the experts, vaccination is clearly important not only for personal security but also for society’s desire to return to “normalcy” in our socio-economic interactions.
It’s worth noting that the same countries have been gradually easing movement restrictions in tandem with the progress of their Covid-19 vaccination programs, according to them.
According to Our World in Data’s latest pre-Covid-19 empirical research, Malaysia appears to be among the countries with very low vaccination hesitancy in general and very high trust in healthcare personnel.
“Hopefully, this tendency can continue with the present NIP (National Immunisation Programme) initiative,” they added, adding that systemic information regarding Covid-19 and vaccines may help people make informed decisions if they were still unsure.
They also stated that the massive data gathered throughout the national immunisation program’s five months is the most valuable input for Machine Learning algorithms that may be used to assess the safety of various vaccines for individuals based on their pre-existing chronic ailments and illnesses.
“It is the lack of a robust data foundation and transparency that allows for baseless fears to flourish.
“With vaccination reluctance continuing low and Covid-19 NIP initiatives ramping up at a steady pace,” they said, “Malaysia may be well prepared to eventually break free from the recurrent and destructive movement control constraints.”/nRead More
