(July 6) BERA: According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the Covid-19 immunization process in Perlis should be improved in order for the state to progress to Phase Three of the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN) more swiftly.
Based on the state’s geography and population, he claimed Perlis, which was currently in Level Two of the PPN, might attain the immunization rate required to advance to the next phase.
“No Covid-19 instances were recorded in Perlis yesterday, and maybe if we can speed up the vaccination procedure, they may go to the third phase faster,” he told Bernama after visiting the vaccination facility (PPV) at Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Sebertak here today.
According to reports, Perlis State Secretary Azman Mohd Yusof announced yesterday that the state could enter the PPN’s Third Phase by October.
According to Azman, Perlis was optimistic that if they could get a sufficient quantity of vaccines, they would be able to attain herd immunity of 80% by October or November at the latest.
Perlis, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang have all advanced to Phase Two of the PPN so far, with Penang joining the list tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Bera MP announced that the area’s vaccination campaign had been separated into five zones to make things easier for residents.
“We don’t have a Mega PPV here since going down to the villages to carry out the immunisation campaign will make it easier for the inhabitants because they won’t have to travel to the city to get immunized,” he explained.
Meanwhile, he claimed that roughly 41,000 Bera people aged 18 and up have signed up to be vaccinated, and that efforts were being made to boost that number./nRead More
