The Vitamin Shoppe, an omni-channel specialty shop and a subsidiary of Franchise Group Inc. (NASDAQ: FRG), has signed an Olympic-bound wrestler David Taylor as a sponsor.
The Man in the Center of Attention: Taylor, dubbed “Magic Man” by his supporters for his proclivity for comeback victories in difficult matches, was crowned 2018 World Champion in the 86-kilogram weight class. He missed the entire year of 2019 because to a knee injury, but he has since recovered and won gold in the 2021 Pan American Championships in May.
Taylor was a two-time NCAA Division I national champion, a four-time Big Ten Conference champion, and a two-time Dan Hodge Trophy winner, the collegiate wrestling equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, earlier in his career. Taylor has also won the US Open in 2015 and 2017.

The Essentials: While The Vitamin Shoppe could not offer specifics on the sponsorship’s extent and depth, CEO Sharon Leite lauded Taylor’s workout regimen as being in line with the company’s mission.
She stated, “David has an untamed competitive spirit, a sense of genuine sportsmanship, and a dedication to family and healthy living that may encourage all of us.” “At The Vitamin Shoppe, we are proud to share his ideals, and we look forward to supporting him on and off the wrestling mat in the coming years.”
Taylor is expected to compete in the 86-kilogram category against Iran’s Hassan Yazdani Charati, the 2016 Olympic champion in the 74-kilogram division. When Taylor and Yazdani last met in the 2018 World Championship, Taylor won.
