1 Minute Read by Reuters Staff (Reuters) – WASHINGTON, July 15 (Reuters) – According to the World Bank, 13 African heads of state asked for the largest-ever $100 billion replenishment of the International Development Association’s fund for the world’s poorest countries on Thursday. The objective was set in a joint proclamation during a summit conference in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, according to the World Bank. After providing enormous support to countries dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank accelerated its preparations for IDA’s twentieth replenishment in April.
