KUALA LUMPUR (May 10): The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be implemented in FELDA Kahang Timur, Kluang, Johor and Kampung Bako Hilir, Kuching, Sarawak from May 12 to May 25, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail Sabri said the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported a rise in the number of cases with high infectivity rate in the two localities.
“The EMCO needed to be implemented in FELDA Kahang Timur so that greater control and preventive measures could be taken, thus all high-risk activities are suspended.
“This EMCO is to facilitate the MOH to make early detection of cases and prevent the spread of Covid 19 infection to other areas outside the locality,” he said in a statement on the development of the Movement Control Order (MCO) here today.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said Hulu Besut in the Besut district, Terengganu would be placed under MCO from tomorrow ( May 11) until May 20.
