PETALING JAYA (June 29): I-Bhd remains confident of its prospects ahead of its RM10 billion flagship development, i-City Golden Triangle in Shah Alam, an integrated lifestyle ultrapolis with cutting edge technologies.

I-Bhd believes its consolidation strategies will prepare the group to propel ahead when the economy recovers.

Group chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said in a press release: “With the impending relocation of regional financial institutions to i-City’s first Grade A, Green Building Index (GBI) rated Sumurwang Tower, we are expecting to achieve an 80% occupancy rate for the recently completed tower. The MSC-status corporate tower will also house multinational corporations and international logistic players.”

He added: “In addition to our first Tier-3 data centre operating since 2008 that is currently fully tenanted, we are planning to add two more data centres accommodating 100,000 square feet each to meet the surging needs of cloud computing facilities.”

i-City Golden Triangle remains the main focus for I-Bhd. The development will have technology-related infrastructure and a 400G capable higher availability network to facilitate finance and information technology in the services industry. Upon completion, i-City will be home to 25,000 residents and 30,000 workers.

Lim said: “Our technology city with adoption of advanced technologies provides I-Bhd with a competitive edge over other industry players, which will allow us to attract established companies to relocate to i-City Golden Triangle.”

In its recently concluded 54th annual general meeting (AGM), I-Bhd revealed that its strong balance sheet, coupled with continued business partnering, will continue to provide financial flexibility for the group to capitalise on growth opportunities.

Meanwhile, in the second half of 2021, the group will see the completion of DoubleTree by Hilton and Hill10 development. DoubleTree by Hilton is slated to welcome guests in 2022.

I-Bhd anticipates the vaccination programme to be a game changer for economic growth and recovery in 2021 and 2022 to achieve the normal or pre-Covid pandemic level. The pent-up demand to visit theme parks and shopping malls will lead to a strong rebound from pandemic lows and is expected to have a positive impact on the group’s earnings once border restrictions are lifted.

The group has also recently entered a strategic partnership with Maybank Islamic to offer HouzKEY programme for its latest luxury residential project, BeCentral. The project has garnered positive interest with 100-unit bookings since its roll-out recently in June 2021.
