KUALA LUMPUR (May 31): A one-stop centre will be established to issue operation permits for essential services during the total lockdown starting Tuesday (June 1).

The matter was decided at a special meeting of the National Security Council (MKN) chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today.

MKN in a statement today said the one-stop centre would be coordinated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) .

“The letter of permission for essential services sector would be issued, after receiving confirmation from the ministries regulating the sector.

“In this regard, new applications for work travel approval have to be resubmitted via Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS) 3.0 portal which is coordinated by MITI with the involvement of all ministries regulating the 17 service sectors allowed to operate,” the statement said.

According to the statement, in line with the first phase of the total lockdown which would be effective until June 14, all permits to operate issued earlier by MITI for the service sectors allowed by the government, have been cancelled.
